’Any Old Love’ is a series of songs which are based around a story set in Barcaldine, Central Queensland. It tells a tale of hope and hopelessness as a young couple try to ride out the early years of their relationship in a regional town during the late 1970’s. It sees the return of esteemed Go-Betweens founder Robert Forster as producer, having worked with Halfway on their previous record ‘An Outpost of Promise’, reuniting with new Halfway member and fellow Go-Between John Willsteed. Legendary Replacements producer Peter Jesperson also lent his weight as co-producer.
